THE JOB

As the Resort Manager of Basecamp Amsterdam, you are responsible for the daily operations and continuous innovation of the resort. You oversee multiple operational departments, including front office, bar, kitchen, meetings & events, maintenance, greenkeeping, housekeeping, administration, marketing, and HR. Simply put—you are at the heart of everything happening at the resort.

With a helicopter view of all activities, you step in where needed, ensuring smooth operations and an exceptional guest experience. You will lead a passionate, young team, motivating them to deliver with joy and ensuring guests feel at home. You report to Richard, Basecamp’s COO, and will receive support from Basecamp’s Operational Management Team to help you grow in your role.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop a one-of-a-kind eco-resort, blending the adventurous spirit of a campsite, the comfort of a hotel, and the vibrant energy of a festival.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

GUEST COMES FIRST, ALWAYS

  • Ensure the best possible guest experience, in line with Basecamp’s values and philosophy.
  • Maintain high occupancy rates while balancing ADR (Average Daily Rate).
  • Oversee and support all operational departments, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Supervise housekeeping, ensuring all units are clean, well-maintained, and available for rent.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and preventative measures.
  • Take ownership of meeting & event operations in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations in the kitchen and bar.
  • Manage and oversee digital guest communication.
  • Provide marketing with up-to-date visual content for promotions and newsletters.
  • Act as the main point of contact for house owners, ensuring open and transparent communication.
  • Send quarterly newsletters to update house owners on resort developments and performance.

SUCCEED TOGETHER

The team consists of a bunch of happy, motivated, young people. In your role you make sure the team succeeds together by training, developing and facilitating them. You lead by example. When a position opens up you will make sure to select the right person for the job. On top of that you will visit Internship fairs at hotel schools to recruit interns and welcome them as part of your team.
