Yes, you can reach Basecamp IJmuiden aan Zee by public transport. Typically, you would take a train to Haarlem Central Station or Amsterdam Sloterdijk, then transfer to a bus that goes to IJmuiden. From the final bus stop ”IJmuiden aan Zee”, it’s a 2-minute walk

There is a large parking lot directly adjacent to Basecamp IJmuiden. You enter the site by taking a ticket at the barrier. Then drive all the way to the back until you see a wooden sign with Basecamp on it on the left. At this sign, turn left for the nearest parking spaces.
Parking for one car is included in your booking. In order to enter the grounds upon arrival, you must take a parking ticket at the barrier. This ticket must then be registered by us to ensure that you can continue to drive in and out for free during your stay. You can go to the reception to register. Is the reception closed? Send us a WhatsApp message with your 7-digit parking ticket number and your Tiny House number, and we will arrange it for you as soon as possible.
Free parking is only available in the residential areas of IJmuiden. Afterward, you need to take bus line 382 towards IJmuiden aan Zee, which takes 10 to 20 minutes.

Are you planning to come with multiple cars during your stay at Basecamp IJmuiden? No problem! We have plenty of parking space available. Your booking includes parking for one car.
If you have two or more cars, you can easily add an extra vehicle for €14 per day (from 2025, it will be €15). Just pick up a parking ticket at the barrier. For payment and registration, you can visit the reception. If the reception is closed, send us a WhatsApp message with your 7-digit parking ticket number and your house number. Safe travels!
The site is car-free. It is not possible to get to your Tiny House by car. The parking lot borders directly on the site. To make loading and unloading easier, we have a number of luggage trolleys at the entrance.
Check-in en check-out
Check-in is from 3 pm. If you want to come earlier to spend some time on the beach, that’s no problem. We cannot guarantee that your house will be ready before 3 pm.
Do you want to get the most out of your stay and move into your Tiny House on time? You can check in at 1 pm for an extra €25,-.
Please note; the possibility of an early check-in is subject to availability.
You can check out until 10:00 AM, but feel free to grab a cup of coffee at the tiny bar afterwards. Enjoy a relaxing moment before you continue!

All Tiny Houses are equipped with bed linen, and both a small and a large bath towel per guest.
Basecamp welcomes all kitchen princes and princesses with open arms! Almost all Tiny Houses have a fully equipped kitchen, except for the ÖÖD Suites. These tiny houses can best be compared to a hotel room.
How nice a joint dishwashing session, with bubbles flying around your ears, can be, some of the Tiny Houses have a dishwasher. Check in the description of the Tiny Houses if the specific house has one.
No, none of our Tiny Houses have a TV. Who needs a TV when you are sitting between the dunes and next to the Kennemermeer? At Basecamp we have the nature channel.
Yes, each Tiny House has its own WiFi router.
The final cleaning is included in your stay. If you would like an interim cleaning, this can be arranged for € 25. Get in touch with our team.
Facilities during my stay
There is a washing machine and dryer on site. If you wish to use this, please contact the team. The costs are € 4 per washing or drying.
Looking to explore the area on two wheels? Rent a standard bike from MyHotelBike for just €15 per day. Looking for convenience? Opt for an e-bike at €25 per day, or for half a day at €20. Both bike options can be equipped with a child seat or a dog trailer. And of course, we haven’t forgotten about the little ones: children’s bikes are available for rent starting at €12.50.
As bikes are limited, we recommend booking in advance to secure your ride. Simply reach out to our reception to make a reservation. Happy cycling!
Yes, you can add breakfast to your stay. Additionally, our Tiny Bar offers a variety of cold drinks, the best Barista coffee, snacks, and ice creams. Opening hours may vary depending on the day and season, so be sure to ask our team for the specific hours during your stay.
Everything about the area
Basecamp IJmuiden is located within walking distance of the vast beach of IJmuiden and right next to a nature reserve. In addition to relaxing on the beach or a nice walk, there are also many fun activities, cities and culture nearby. Discover more here!
There’s a convenience store on the boulevard, just a 2-minute walk away, perfect for those “oops, I forgot” moments. For your grocery needs, the center of IJmuiden has several supermarkets and a little shopping street called “Lange Nieuwstraat.” Everything is easily accessible by bus or car.
The beach is just a short walk away, so you’ll be feeling the sand between your toes within 5 minutes!
Our resort is located right next to the lake, so you might be lucky enough to enjoy a lake view from your own tiny house. You’ll be at the lake within 1 minutes!
Pet-friendly stay

For just €20 per stay, your four-legged friend can join you in one of our dog-friendly Tiny Houses in IJmuiden (19 out of 34 houses allow dogs!). Once you have found your favorite Tiny House with dog, you will be redirected to the reservation page. Then simply add the “Pet Fee” under “enhance your stay”.
Please note: We love dogs, but cats, hamsters or other pets are not allowed.
There is only one dog per Tiny House allowed. Our Tiny Houses aren’t quite ready for a dog party!
Yes, dogs are generally welcome on the beach of IJmuiden, but there are some rules during the high season. In certain zones, dogs are not allowed from 1 October to 1 April. In Zones 3 and 4, however, your dog can enjoy the beach all year round. Find an overview of the rules and zones on the page below.
Unfortunately, we don’t provide dog beds. Your furry friend will need to bring their own cozy spot for lounging.
Absolutely! You can book a pet-free Tiny House. Each one is clearly marked with a “dog” or “no dog” indication on our site.
As a dog lover, it is hard to imagine, but not everyone is as fond of dogs as you are. We therefore ask you to take other guests into account and adhere to the following:
- Always keep your dog on a leash at the resort
- Do not leave your dog alone in your Tiny House
- Bring a maximum of one dog per Tiny House
- A dog surcharge of €20 per dog per stay applies

Booking and Payment Information
Bookings for one night are made available 10 days in advance. Keep an eye on our website or booking system for short stay availability.
All payments must be made in advance. You can pay online using a credit card or via iDEAL. Please note, we operate as a cashless park.
For credit card payments, verification by the card owner is required before the payment can be processed. Once you initiate the payment, you will receive a verification request via email from our booking system. Simply click “Verify,” and you’re all set!
The longer you stay, the more advantageous the price. Basecamp accepts reservations for any length of stay, from 1 night to as long as you want. Please contact the reception for options.
Be warned: after this experience, you might never want to leave!
We only accept our own gift vouchers and offer only physical gift vouchers—no digital ones. We will gladly send you a physical gift voucher by mail!
You need to be at least 18 years old to make a reservation.
A flexible rate allows you to cancel your booking up to 48 hours in advance without any charge.
A non-refundable discount gives you 10% or more off your booking. Just keep in mind that if you cancel, you won’t get any of the money back.
Edit or cancel reservation
With a non-refundable booking, it is not possible to amend your reservation. With a flexible rate, you can modify your booking free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. For changes to bookings with an arrival date within 7 days, a €25 administration fee will apply. Please note that you will also need to pay any difference in price. We advise you to ensure you have adequate travel insurance
Only bookings made with a flexible rate can be canceled free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival. For cancellations made within 48 hours of the arrival date, 100% of the booking fee will be charged. For assistance, please contact the reception.
